Eighty per cent of Canadians ages 20 – 59 have at least one of these risk factors that contribute to heart disease or stroke. While many of these risk factors can be controlled, stroke continues to be the third leading cause of death in Canada(1) with 40,000 – 50,000 strokes occurring every year.(1)
